This is the PSC briefing on Israel’s attack on the six Palestinian human rights NGOs.
On 19 October 2021, the Israeli government proscribed six Palestinian human rights and civil society NGOs, effectively criminalizing them. This part of a longer pattern of Israel targeting Palestinian humanitarian groups, human rights defenders, as well as international organizations providing support and solidarity, in an attempt to stifle criticism of its ongoing military occupation, expansion of illegal settlements, and other violations of international law.
